Opening Day of Archery Season

So I went hunting on the first day of archery season and things did not go as planned. The weather was the main factor in the foul up of plans. It had rained all day on Thursday and Friday before hunting season. I wok eup early on Saturday and it was not raining. I drove to my location and hit so patches of rain, but no rain at my location.

My friend and I started walking into the woods at 630am and of course it starts to rain. I stayed in my treestand until 845am and was drenched. My clothes are waterproof, so I was dry underneath, but I was 10 pounds heavier from the moisture sitting on my clothes. We killed some time at my friend's dad's store/check station. ONE guy checked in a 7point buck. It rained until about 1130am, so then we went back into the woods. When we got to the edge of the woods, we did see ONE deer about 75 yards off (that is not a good shooting distance with a bow). We continued on to the treestands and of course once we got there...it F-ing rained again. We stayed out there for a couple of hours and then retreated to the store again.

I left the store around 3pm and it was not raining. It did not rain the remainder of the day. When I got home and was doing my hunting laundry...I found my friend's walkie-talkie in my pocket. I called to tell him that I had it and he told me that his dad had gone out in the woods around 4pm and took photos of 4 deer under my friend's treestand. Ain't that a BIATCH!?

My friend is taking Columbus Day off of work and going hunting. I am hoping to get out there right after school for a few hours. We shall see. PEACE MONKEYS!
